Granada Channels promoted broadcast media advertising and sponsorship opportunities as the cable and satellite revolution hit the UK. It established a strong reputation in the rapidly changing industry by helping clients keep up-todate. Alembic aided this process by designing The Guide – a series of physically interactive marketing communications delivering channel brand presentations, case histories, transmission guides and updates, followed up with CD-ROM presentations.
Information is the key component of The Guide. The company's audience was very small - just a few hundred specialist media buyers, knowledgeable but busy. Keeping pace with changes was something Granada could help them do. As well as promoting its own offers, Granada also 'gave away' up-to-date information on the expanding UK cable and satellite universe and in doing so, quickly established a "trusted authority" market positioning.
